Leaders: Queen Elizabeth II represented by Governor General of New Zealand Anand Satyanand; New Zealand is represented by Administrator Jonathan Kings. Each atoll is governed by its council of elders (Taupulega). The Government for national affairs of Tokelau itself (called General Fono) was delegated by the three councils of elders and the head of government (called Ulu-o-Tokelau) rotates yearly between the leader of each atoll (where meetings are held).

 

Additional: Tokelau comprises of three atolls each with their own administrative capital and ... Atafu (42 separate islands with a total land mass of 550 acres) is the northern most atoll of the three and also the smallest. Nukunonu (5.5km2) is the largest of the three and situated in the middle with Fakaofo (62 islets measuring 4sq Kilometres) at the bottom.
